Carboxytherapy

  • The CarboxyTherapy Treatment
  • Treatment should be individualized
  • This procedure uses injections of carbon dioxide to deconstruct the fat chambers just under the skin that contribute to the formation of cellulite. The intent is to smooth out the fat cells and diminish rippling.

Carboxytherapy, which has the approval of the Food and Drug Administration, mayhelp reduce cellulite on the legs and arms, as well as around the midriff.

    The CarboxyTherapy Treatment

Your physician will numb your skin with a topical anesthetic cream. You won’t feel the pinpricks of the needles during the treatment; you will, however, feel some pressure (as if someone were gently squeezing your arm) as the carbon dioxide fills the pockets of fat. The entire procedure won’t last longer than 20 minutes or so, and you can return to your daily activities immediately. Expect some mild bruising for a day or so.

    Treatment should be individualized

The number of treatment sessions you’ll need will depend on a variety of very individualized factors, including how big an area you want treated. Usually, 6 to 12 weekly carboxytherapy sessions suffice, with maintenance sessions to retain the results.
